In 2015, Green Team Partnership installed 850 solar PV modules for Your Homes Newcastle at its St Ann’s site on behalf of Newcastle City Council. The flat-roof ballast system was designed to lower building energy consumption and support the Council’s long-term sustainability objectives, the same housing-scale commercial work we still tender for.
Eight years of reliable performance later, the Council appointed GTP again in 2023 to deliver a further 425 modules across 85 social housing properties in Walker, cutting energy costs and carbon footprints for tenants.
Impact and benefits
- Proven long-term performance. The 2015 system’s track record won the 2023 rollout, no better reference exists.
- Tenant cost reduction. The Walker installations lower household bills, supporting Council affordability initiatives.
- Housing-scale delivery. 85 occupied properties fitted with minimal disruption to residents.
- Sustained partnership. Nearly a decade of trusted public-sector collaboration and ongoing maintenance.
